In the Heart of Boka: Legends of Perast and Our Lady of the Rocks

The enchanting town in Montenegro, highlighted by its beautiful architecture and breathtaking mountain scenery.

The tour begins at the city park near Kotor’s port, just 200 meters from the Old Town gate. A friendly skipper will ensure you’re comfortably seated for the scenic trip through the Bay of Kotor.

Our first stop is the islet of Our Lady of the Rocks, home to a church built in honor of an icon found after a shipwreck. Local fishermen created the island by throwing rocks in the spot where the icon was discovered. The church’s 15th-century interior features a marble altar and works by notable artists like Lovro Dobric and Tripo Kokolja.

Next, we visit Perast, a small town known for its Baroque architecture, churches, and defensive towers. This UNESCO World Heritage site is rich in history, offering a glimpse into the past through its ancient streets and landmarks.

  • During spring and autumn months, it can be chilly – we recommend dressing warmer.
